Member in the Spotlight - Caroline Talbott
This month's 'Member in the Spotlight' is Caroline Talbott who works with business leaders, project/programme managers and HR managers, enabling them to achieve exceptional business and personal results.
1. Ten words that describe your business: Coaching and consultancy for transitions and transformations in business.
2. What do you most enjoy about your work?: I just love it when a coaching client gets an insight which can really change their life. It's so satisfying to see how people progress over the period of time that I'm working with them through the support and challenge I give.
3. What attracted you to the Mendip area?: It's beautiful and so many amazing and creative people live here. |
4. What advice would you give to anyone starting a business in the area?: Mix with other business people to learn, share experiences and provide mutual support - you're brilliant at what you do but the business side of it can be daunting.
5. Who or what inspires you?: Generosity of spirit - it's one of the great pleasures of life - giving and receiving.
6. Your greatest achievement to date – personal or business?: Setting up my own business and making it a success, including through the worst recession in living memory! - leaving a secure company environment where I'd worked for nearly 30 years to do so!
7. In five words, how would your friends describe you?: Kind, thoughtful, serene, playful, adventurous.
8. Favourite place in the world?: Antarctica - it's awe inspiring, so beautiful, remote, and the scale of it is hard to take in.
9. Cats or dogs?: I love both - cats for their independence, dogs for their unconditional love and enthusiasm.
10. When not at work, where can you be found?: Travelling to remote and little known places with my husband or enjoying the company of friends and other family members. It's our challenge to find places people have never even heard of, let alone been to. OK, for example, Yerevan (Armenia), Guyana, Gibb River Road (Australia - only accessible in the dry season)!
